With the professional mediation services of Pathways Paralegal & Mediation, our clients are often able to resolve their issue outside of court and avoid the costly expenses of a legal dispute. Coaching occurs when we work with one party only in the dispute. Mediation is when we work with more than one. We favor and often only work with one individual.
Pathways Paralegal & Mediation’s Alison Torba, CP mediates civil rights disputes at the Attorney General’s office and trains law students at the University of Arizona, College of Law in mediation. She also has experience successfully mediating debt negotiations in a law office.
How Mediation Works
Mediation services provide a cost effective alternative to court. In family affiars we only work with one party to clarify his or her position in the negotiation. We are coaches for the one party who needs to be clearer on what he or she is requesting and what his or her options are. Our mediation experience has taught us that there is usually one party who, if he or she were firmer on his or her position then the path forward for both parties becomes quite clear.
Because Ms. Torba is a Legal Document Preparer, she can also write up the agreement for the parties in the conflict and notarize the signatures.
Also, Ms. Torba specializes in cultural/gender sensitivity and conflict resolution informed by her Anthropology degree from the University of Arizona, her world travels, and her acting as a student diplomat for the US government in Germany.
